    Hello All,
I am new to saltwater tanks and new to this site (first post!)
I have a 29gal tank with 14lbs of live rock, live sand, 1 bicolor pseudo and 1 red scooter blenny... I have taken water samples to the pet store and everything checks out great except for posphates. I am currently having an algae bloom due to leaving the lights on for 3 days :worried: . I am buying equipment as needed (just bought a powerhead the other day). I will need a skimmer soon and was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations. The tank is on a 'wire' stand not on a cabinet stand, so I cannot hide a huge skimmer. It will need to be attached to the back of the tank and hopefully wont overflow :-/ .. any help for a noob?

I use prizm pro's on my nano's. Most people don't like them because they are challenging to get dialed-in.

AquaC came out with a nano Remora recently but I've never used one before.

I just need something that I can hang on the back of my tank and not have to worry about it overflowing as I have read happens alot. What exactly is involved with "dialing in" Im not sure I understand that

I have the aqua c remora with the maxi jet 1200 pump. I really like this skimmer because you can hang it on the back of the tank, it's easy to use, just plug and play. no dialing or adjusting. It's a bit pricier than the others but I have never had a problem with overflowing as the cup can be adjusted to the choice of skimmate. try this site, they got amazing prices.

The cup is square, not round, lol. That is a great skimmer. Probably the best HOB you can buy!! I have the prizm deluxe skimmer, and it is a pain to use. On a nano it would probably work good though. There is a flow control vavle, and it has to be ajusted all the time. If the flow is to much it will overflow the cup, and run millions of microbubbles into the tank, lol.

I'll probably go with that one then, theyre pricey, but if they work, then thats all that matters lol

any other recommendations for easy to use "cheap" ones.. like 100 bux or so?

I checked several sources. It seems everyone is selling the nano model for around $140

For a small tank I like the CPR BAK-PAK, it is a hang on, quiet and plug and play- no need to adjust! Coralife also sells some nice skimmers (although larger and a little more complicated to set up) at resonable prices- I have used both of these and had no problems!
