I have a 55g and am looking for a new skimmer. I have always heard that I should double the skimmer size for the the size aquarium I have. So if I have a 55g, I would need a skimmer rated for 100g or more. Is this true?

Yeah. I am looking at the Bubble Magus BM100 as I type this. I have a medium bioload in my 55g and the skimmer is rated at 125g. I should be ok right?

I think those guys are cheap. If I were doing a 55 gallon I would go with the octopus line
