    Hey
I've just got myself a new tank built and am looking to purchase a skimmer to go in my sump.

Any suggestions on a decent one? Im happy to pay for quality but dont want to waste my money.

I live in New Zealand so anything I buy I'll have to buy online and get it shipped here as the people here are rip off merchants and not very helpful

Will a Red Devil Deluxe do the trick or is that too small?

    Any suggestions would be great!!

    Cheers
    Nick ;D

Never heard of a red devil deluxe? Take a look at the AquaC EV 180 or 240. These skimmers would easily handle your tank! What type of voltage do you have over there 110 or 220?

IF I went with a Aqua C 240 what pump would you recomend?

I've also read elsewhere that an Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 could handle my tank and these seem a lot cheaper! Are they any good or??

    Nick,

I'm just over the road in Australia and have purchased this type of equipment from the USA before with much satisfaction. Just get the skimmer imported and buy the pump locally ( if you can )

Definately buy the pump local. It will run better! The EV240 requires a pump that is at least 1200 GPH. The aqua medic is to small for a 200 gallon. What manufactures say a skimmer can handle and what it really can are two different things.

    Cheers Guys

Darrin, do you have any idea on what it would cost to ship the 240 to New Zealand?

Based on a shipping weight of about 37 pounds the cost for US Postal Service Airmail would be $160 with insurance. Delivery time would be about a week.

    Darin,

Can you post a pic of the Aqua C EV240? On addition, what Aqua Medic would be comparable in volume to the EV240, if any?

    TIA

    Yeah

That would be great to know what Aqua Medic would compare to the 240.

Also what do you think of ETSS skimmers?
