The display is 90 gallons with a 20 gallon long sump. I've been torn between a bm-nac6, bm-nac7, reef octopus 110. I considered the reef octopus 150, but it would not fit in the sump comfortably. The sump chamber for the skimmer is 11x12"

I would prefer a cone style skimmer, dont want to spend a fortune

    RO 110- local is $180
Bm nac 6-average online is $199
bm nac 7-average online is $250

most other skimmers seem to be out of price range. I really dont want to go over $250.

Im ashamed to talk about the skimmer it will be replacing. All choices will be better than what i have.

BM vs RO seems to come down to mesh wheel or needle wheel pump, what do you prefer and why?

If you have other suggestions within the criteria please share, otherwise im torn between the three priced above

Go with the Eshopps S-120. It has the smallest footprint of any and will perform better.

I just got a reef octopus extreme 160 and it is unbelievable. Worlds better than my old super skimmer. I would go with the octopus.

Check out what other 90 galloners are using at the 90 thread.

I had to go back and forth with the same question/answer over and over when I was deciding which skimmer to get for my 90. Ive posted in the thread I mentioned above, I got a SWC Xtreme Cone 160, it was my very first skimmer ever, but it's creating ripe and disgusting (in a good way) skimmate since. Foot print is 9x7.

FYI, I got mine online (BigAlsonline.com) @$246 with the 10% off coupon code "3reef" with free shipping.
