Skimmer...

I'll prob go with a remora hang on that will hang on the back of my sump.

I don't know much about skimmers. What does a recirculating skimmer do? Won't the remora do well?

 

makes perfect since if you dont wanna get a bigger sump.

I dont have much experience with HOB's but sounds a little strange to have a HOB and a sump. People get HOB for the main reason that they dont have a sump and have no other choice. You have a choice....

 

What does a recurclaiting skimmer do? Like water runs in it first then into the sump?

 

Exactly, I just think the recirc skimmer would be much more effective than the remora. The remoras are an impressive hang on back skimmer but not that impressive as a whole.. Does that make sense?

takes water from the skimmer back to the skimmer, produces more contact time. i wouldnt go any other way.

 

Could anybody post a link of a good skimmer of this kind? Preferably under $200

 

When I had my recirc skimmer, I plumbed my overflow directly to the skimmer. The skimmer has an external pump that recirculates the water while drawing in and adding air. From the skimmer you just plumb your drain to your sump.
