Could i put a check valve on the mag 9 as the return so it limits flow back to the tank?

 

you mean ball valve? you could but I think it's a waste of a great pump. You know? You would need to valve it about half way down too. I believe that's ok with magdrive pumps tho

 

Yeah ball valve. So that would work? And all i'd have to buy is the skimmer. That way i have a mag9 just in case i upgrade to a bigger tank.

yep that would work. I think you'll be happy with this skimmer and the action that you would get from it.

 

Cool. Well then i have a plan then. Thank you soooo much for helping me out. So let me get this straight. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Overflows flow directly to skimmer that sits under my tank with my sump, skimmer skims and outputs water to sump, water goes through sump and refugium back to tank. Cycle repeats. correct?
