Is it the thin partical board or is it actually plywood?
Would it be possible to install some lumber in each corner and around the base and top on the inside before you do maybe? I wouldnt think the bottom would be to crucial to the structural strength, but it wouldnt hurt to reinforce it just in case it was critical. Cuz if it is, the outcome could be bad...

It's thin particle board. I thought about the stuctural integrity issue and I don't think it plays a part. I am not going to do anything right now. Things are dry. I am pretty happy with the overnight progress. I have rigged the bucket with a 1/2" hose return to the sump. If it happens again, no biggie. The water will just have to be skimmed again. Here is a pic below, because it is difficult for me to post without a pic!!!!

If its just the thin sheet of particle board, then you should be fine. I always get anxious whenever I have to mess with a stand. A couple of days ago I had to move my tank away from the wall a little to make more room. I was as nervous as could be. Thats all anyone of us needs is to have a tank come crashing down:bigcry:

Yeah. I have been on kind of a poopy roll here for the last week, so I want to leave well enough alone. My skimmer is starting to settle down and get consistent, so I am happy. I check it every half hour and do minor adjustments. I still really do not know what I am doing. This is a learning process. Oh well, the fishies and corals will thank me in the end.

John you have a few things set up wrong here .. This skimmer is a whole different level then anything you ever ran before .. It will skim paint off the walls I know and like I mentioned yesterday they are a different type beast . You have lots of DOC's in the water now from lack of skimming that what ever you ran before could not deal with . Take the skimmer and black off the air inlet totally open the main drain valve the red handled Gate on the from of the mixing box and then with all air totally shut off open the control valve on the pump to allow enough water to run into the skimmer to raise the water level about level to the point where the riser tube leaves the black box then open the air totally up and let it run until it builds form and allow it to just skim lightly for a few days until it cures up and settles in ..

All skimmers like this will go nuts if you crank them open to a point most try with a skimmer like a Cora life or CPR or some other type of lower scale skimmer . These skimmer like a Bullet will skim and skim then you put a finger in the water they go flat thats how sensitive they are then the inexperience owners will crank up more air or water in a effort to see foam in the tube then in a hr or so it will be flooding. like when you feed they go flat and just leave it alone then i will come back and pull all the Carbons from the water and go semi flat again until there is more work for it . These type skimmers never just foam 24/7 and like I said the owners get all in a dither and want to see foam and crank it up to from but once the surface tension of the water is back to normal resistance and the hobbyist is gone they will go crazy and will not stop.

Again cut off all air and open outlet wide open and then adjust the pump feed level to show water just at the blue line on that first column and then open the air and let it set and foam for a few days to a week ..Then holler and I'll walk you through the send adjustment ..The instruction manual is worthless here its all about experience and know how they work and to make the adjustments . But once they are dialed in they will skim that tank in 1/2 and semi go flat and wait for more work to do. ..Oh and That drain line from the collection cup to the bucket won't do as that increase the pressure the skimmer has to push agianst to raise the foam into the cup. that has to be all down hill from the skimmer collection cup..Put the cups drain into the hole you have the emergency in and lower another hole for the drain from bucket to sump..

OK dude. Will do. I just ran into the leak again though. So the skimmer is back on hold. I will follow procedure when I figure this out though. Thanks. John.

John, I've got the same skimmer and Tangsters got you in the right direction. For the over flow I us a 2 liter bottle but the bucket can work too line has to be down though. After a week it didn't fill up with nearly as much water.

If you need an owners manual let me know I found it online and have a PDF I can post.

Yeah.....I 'll fix it. For now it's OK. I am going to fit the bucket with actual hose fittings in the morning to make things less complicated. I want plug and play for a week. Then the two litre bottle will come into play.

Yeah, this skimmer beats the out of the Jebo. I can't believe the action this one stirs up. Can't wait to see some actual skimmate come out of the tank once it's dialed in.

Man, I have worked on this tank for three days straight doing one thing or another. Good thing I am on vacation. Kind of been a water kind of week. I have been trying to solve some BS that has been going on underneath my sink too. More water. Water, water, water. It does a body good.

I hate to post links outside this form I find it rude But a picture is worth a 1,000 words But you guys with these more powerful skimmers really need to look into using something like this waste collector

    Waste Collectors

They will totally shut the foam production off
