Skimming a EcoSystem Tank?

    Well since even the people at Eco-System offer both skimmed and unskimmed setup I thought I would see what you guys all think. There seem to be some grey area between removing the polutants and remove the plankton you setup the fuge in the first place.

    I think the jury is still out on this one.

    With skimming you are removing more junk, but you are also removing the "good stuff" that the fuge was originally intended to cultivate.

    A skimmer will decrease the likelihood that you will someday have a true enclosed ecosystem. A skimmer also means more hardware and more money.

    I wouldn't worry about pulling out too much junk, that substrate is filled with junk for the macro,
