I can only run a 10 gallon sump. So, space is quite limited. I am getting a hob skimmer. Can i skim the refugium part of the sump?

I could be wrong, but IMO, no you cannot skim the refugium area. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a place where macro algae and micro fauna can grow without any competing factors.

The first thing that comes to mind, if you are planning on having 'pods in your 'fuge, is the stage that the 'pods are free swimming may get sucked up and siphoned out by your skimmer, there by preventing them from making it to your tank. It may also make it difficult to get a population up to where you want it.

    Just my 2 cents.

I have the Reef Octopus NS80 internal skimmer. Placed in my 3.3g CPR Aquafuge. My copods may be min but my Amphipod are abundant! Chaeto grows crazy! So it works for me :)
