Shrimp in general don't like drastic changes in water quality. For example a drastic rise in calcium, ph etc. They are one of the first to parrish if things aren't done SLOW. They also like Iodine(Lugol's), which also helps them to shed(slough)their shell as they grow, as a snake does. All shrimp tend to get along with others, atleast from experience with my tank. I have Fire, Peppermint and Cleaner(skunk).

I agree with the probe... do you have any kind of wrasses??? IMO, blood shrimp are way cool as are skunks, but when first molted, they are extremely soft and vulnerable... makes for an easy meal.

Well I got my skunk and blood shrimp at the weekend along with a turbo snail and a hermit crab! I used the drip method and I had quite a cool rig as there where four bags each with it's own drip! Bit of a pain to setup but once up and running it was OK.
They all seem to be happy now but I was a bit annoyed at the LFS as they really mishandled my blood shrimp, they scooped him out with a net and shook it until he fell in the bag! I was not impressed to say the least.

Anyhow, the blood shrimp seems to be ok, he spends most of his time in a cave and is a bit shy, but he is eating, hopefully he will make an appearence soon. The crab however got to work straight away, munching on alot of green algae.

My shrimp get on fine, they don't interact much with each other but at least they are not fighting! The cleaner shrimp is the most active, he is constantly roaming the tank doing the only thing he knows...cleaning!!
The blood shrimp spends most of his time going in all the nooks and crannies, but I think he is great to watch, just not as active.

I will try and take some snaps soon as I have a fair amount of green algae that hopefully someone can shed some light on, my tank only finished cycling about a month ago so I am assuming that this is fairly normal?!

Yes, the algae is normal. What size is your tank, I would consider getting a few more turbos to help with the issue if you feel the need. Again, really glad all is well. So do you think the drip method is what made the difference?

    Keep us posted!
