    Hello,

I'm buying a 90g (piped), lightly stocked tank from someone, and combining my 46g bowfront livestock with it, including a large banded coral shrimp. The 90g comes w/two large skunk shrimp.

Does anybody know of the skunks and the banded will get along? There will be LOTS of live rock for hiding.

    Thanks,

i think they'll be fine cause you have two skunks and alot of hiding spots, if it were 1 on 1, or 2 cb shrimps, i'd think twice.

Thanks. I've heard that two banded in one tank is a no-no, but not banded w/skunks. However, the skunks are a 'pair' and have laid eggs b4 (forgot to mention that), and was thinking maybe the two would gang-up on the one.

I would watch the tank for a while. Cleaners and CB sometimes dont get along. The CB's are known to be aggressive and take apart CS. If I had to place a bet, I would put my money on the CB. Luna

i'm not sure I would attempt this. CB are aggressive towards other shrimp. If it were me I would choose one or the other and go with that. You should be able to get a little store credit with the CB from your local lfs.

My friend has one CB one Skunk and one Blood Shrimp all together in a 150 gal Reef Without and problems for a few years now ( at least 2) but I think that is an exception not the rule I think you are better off with Either the Skunk Pair ( My preference) or the CB

But I would stay with the most beneficial one, which imo, would be the CS. The CB also preys on snails and worms and attacks other crustaceans. That would be our cleaner crew. Not good Luna

keep the cleaner shrimp as a pair they will possibley make more, or jsut have good food for fish, and there very beneficial!
coral banded shrimp has huge @$$ claws and will tear them up! ! ! ! i have been pinched once or twice when i had one it hurt!!! so trade the shrimp in for credit. oororr if you have a refugium put him in there with the chaeto and stuff, and with sand just dont foget to target feed him every once in a while.

    everyone,

thank you for the advice. i DO have a refrugium, and the sump with the 90g has it built-in. i think i'll put the cb in the refrug. it's a hard decision to make because the cb is a favorite. but it's a good trade-off...plus, the skunks are interesting to watch.

    thanks again,
