Yes it does and uses more of the 2' depth of the the tank while avoiding that strip of rock down the middle or against the wall thing.

Now my only problem is how to address the part of the tank against the wall...I was thinking on that half I'd use some vinyl cling (as I have on the 46) and just let the pipes comming from the BeanAnimal overflow show (they'll be painted black) or continuing the vinyl to disguise them a bit and leaving the rest where you can see through it. Oh and the pipes are centered (but obviously not in yet).

I haven't yet but will be using plywood, and making doors (or rather have my dad make doors for it ;D ), will be adding molding as well.

The plywood will probably be attached with screws from the back side or through the front under where the molding will be.
Alternately I was thinking of making them in such a way that I could slide the sides off (similar to the side of a computer case) so I can access the sump and such from the side (while still having it look like a piece of furniture).

I'm also extending/adding to the back section of the stand so my overflow pipes will go straight down (no elbows) into the sump and there will be plywood on the back too as it'll be seen from the back and it also helps to contain the moisture & salt creep from the sump. Everything exterior will be well sanded, stained black and polyurethaned.
