Well the slime is nothing that can't be easily broken. I was just concerned that something was wrong with the design is all. I guess until the fuge matures, I can net the slime coating out every couple days or as needed.

    Thanks for the help.

ok, I want to repeat my question, because I want to build a fuge next week too and don't want to make it wrong. I wanted to get the water out of the fuge with an overflow. Is that bad in any way? or is it just, that yours are build different for no real reason?

Hoodoo, I am assuming you are placing your fuge either alongside or above your display tank? The correct way to get water back to your tank would be an overflow.

We are discussing fuge/sumps that sit underneat of the main tanks....gotta pump that water back up and the main tank overflows into the sump/fuge.

Does that answer your ??? ;D

    yeah, it doesn, thanks.
My fuge will go in the bottom too, but it will overflow into the sump. I will use the drain from the tank to get water in it, and then drain it by overflow in the sump. That will mean that I don't need a pump, I like that :)
