If anyone has any sloughing coral pics they could share I would greatly appreciate it.. I have a colt coral that I'm not sure about, whether its sloughing or disintegrating and would like something to compare it to. I tried googling it but didn't get anything good.

This is what mine looks like, I just noticed the chunks missing about an hour ago, they weren't there this morning. Is this normal?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
This is the 3rd thread you have started regarding this coral.

On the last 2 threads I sincerely believe you will find the answers. Unless you are looking for another answer. After you introduce a coral into a tank with of ammonia greater than 0 it is going to take awhile.

Give it time, you can do no other intervention other than more water changes, or dipping it which I do not suggest. I can not count the number of times I bought a soft coral and had to wait several days for it to come around and that was when introduced to a stable tank.

If you are going to try anything try increasing the flow.

Leathers always do this. They have a down time to regenerate tissue and grown and it will spring back to life later. Also what type of lighting are you running you may be burning it they actually don;t like a whole lot of light from metal halides well this species anyways they don't have bright zooanthelle to protect against UV rays and soon wither and burn.

I apologize for my posts but I'm just worried it's not going to survive. I've never had a colt coral and the last thing I added to my tank (zoa colony) was supposed to be hardy and easy to take care of and it died. I'm not looking for other answers, I appreciate the answers I've been given so far, now I'm just looking to see if what it's doing is what other people have experienced. It's really not looking good today and if its supposed to be "sloughing" skin it sure seems like its losing a lot of skin.

I have 2 blue actinic T5s and 2 VHO T5s, no MH. The LFS had the same lights and it was open, standing up and very happy in their tank.

You have to learn to be patient. Trust me on this one. I am sure it has happened to almost everyone on the forum and in this community. Patience can be your best friend or your worse enemy. It all depends on you.
