    Here are my numbers for today.

    PH = 8.2
    PO4 = 0.1
    ALK = 9.1
    CAL = 375
    MAG = 1400
    TRATE = 0
    TRITE = 0
    AMMO = 0
    SALINITY = 1.025
    TEMP = 81 F

    I just dosed the tank with Cal to try and bring it up to somewhere between 400 to 475 but 375 isnt that bad or so I think and I just gave a small dose of iodion but my Duncans for the last two days have been looking quit sluggish not thing different I mean I just added a copper banded butterfly to the tank yesterday but the Duncans have been looking like that before I added him in other than that nothing different and I have had thses Duncans for about 2 months now and they have grown like wild fire always looking beautiful I have PC lighting with 4 x 96w bulbs 2 white 2 blue and I have them place a little higher than mid level in the tank. 1 hour blue light to begin with then I turn on the whites then 1 hour blue lights to end the day with a total of about 10 hours of lighting.

    What could be the problem?

    Are you testing for the iodine you're dosing?

    And be careful raising calcium so fast, less than 50ppm per day is recommended

    Just a couple thoughts, good luck with them! Can you get a pic of how they look maybe someone with more experience can chime in.

    As far as the calcium is concerned yeah Im doing the recommended daily dose till its where I want it and as for the iodion no not testing but I maybe dose the tank once every 2 weeks which Iv been doing for a long time and has never had any ill affects but yeah I should be smart enough to know that things change so Ill be getting a test kit for that here shortly. LOL and actually I would love to take a pic of them to show you but they are looking pretty good now lol I guess they know I need a pic now. lol Maybe the Iodion dose is sprucing them back up not sure.

    For two days they were completely closed when lights were completely on which is not like them.

    mine will actually do that from time to time for a day or two and then open up like normal. It happens around twice a year. i'm not sure of the reason. now recently mine have stayed closed and i finally caught my matted file fish nipping at them.

    This is as good a pic as I can get but their usually opened up about 3 inches more than that so their like half closed and sort of grayish in color anyways hope you can see what Im saying in this pic.

    i think yours will be okay. Are any other corals acting weird? Have you changed the flow or lighting? mine are completely receded where you can just see the tips of the tentacles.
