    You could get a plastic basket, such as the ones that hold raspberries and blueberries in the grocery store, to cover the overflow.

    My little guy survived overflow, sump, refugium and when I did notice it was in the return cavity area. Buddy up top was in panic but once put back in think learned lesson.:p
