Because of the sump design that I am using I am left with a small footprint area to locate my Protein Skimmer. I was wondering which skimmer is best that also has a smaller footprint. I have only two of the three compartments that I can locate the skimmer, in the second and third compartments after the inlet water dump section. I have Macro algae in compartment two and my return pump in compartment three. I only have 12" for width of sump and each compartment is also 12" length wise. I also only have 23" overhead clearance. Any suggestion one a skimmer for my set-up? Thanks.

Hey Unclejed, Do you know someone that has this Skimmer? Have you seen results of waste removal?

Check out the Bubble Magnus NA6. TB Aquatics sells them now. Matt has a review of them as well.

No, I don't personally know the people. A few in this forum have it and gave great reviews on it. I came across it just looking at skimmers one day (I'm always looking at aquarium equipment, media etc.) and saw it and like you, my sump isn't huge and that looked great. I then googled it and added the word "review" to the search and read up on it. All and all it seems to measure up. Perhaps someone who has one will respond.

Both the Bubble Magnus and the Marineland are on back order. I still need more ideas on skimmers. I also find it hard to pick one sized for a 180G tank. Either 100 or 300 G rated. :-/

How about an Aqua-C EV180? The footprint is something like 6"x9" (or 10"). I have this skimmer in my small sump for my 65g. Not sure on your tank size, but it looks like you have a 180. If this is the case, I would say that it cant be overstocked, a 'normal' or light stocked tank would be best if its a 180.
