small,hardy,and eats GHA!

    any inverts that are small hardy peaceful and eats GHA?:confused:

    They most definitely do love the stuff :) However, I would not put them in the small or hardy category. I do not see one thriving long-term in a nano (they eat ALOT of algae), they are prone to getting stung by anemones, and a mishap with a powerhead or intake grate and it may be game over.

    If you are concerned about GHA, I would find the source of the phosphates/nitrates and take care of it at that level.

    But, to answer your question, I know my hermits will eat GHA, not in any level that will control it if I had an outbreak, but enough to keep at manageable levels.

    However, if you do get one, I guess you can always pass it around a local club to people who have algae outbreaks when it gets your GHA under control.

    I can't imagine it would take but a few hermits in a 6 gallon to handle GHA. Best control is nutrient control and keeping water parameters stable.

    If you like the sea hare u cud try it and c if u can get it to eat nori.I had my seahare eating nori and he was around for like 8 month before he has a ru inn with a filefish :(

    Hey if you live in Orinda I think you should get the sea hare. Once he's done in your tank I'll take him :D My tank is bigger and would feed him for a while.
