    Hello,

In my 100g FOWLR tank I have small particles floating in the tank. I have 150lbs or so live rock, two power heads & a sump with a skimmer.

I did have an algae problem but know the algae is turning while & I think the particles are small amounts of algae or sand.

Any recommends to clear it up?

    Thanks!

A filter sock in the sump would trap particulate matter. You will need to clean it frequently as the trapped particles will still break down into DOCs, potentially causing nitrate issues.

+1 to Mr.Bills advise.Congrats on getting the upper hand on the algae, but a sock will clear the particles, and keeping the sock clean will prevent it from refueling your algae all over again.

You can also put a filter pad between the baffles in your sump. Still have to change/clean it frequently thou.
