*edit* rant removed as per request.

So I ended up with some nice rocks and some Freshwater plants. Don't worry I did not put the rocks in the main tank. I filled a blue rubber-made half full of water from my main tank (good time for a water change anyhow) added a small pump (100gph) and put a 20W antic t8 and a 65w PC on it. When looking over a piece I noticed something that looked like a coral, although it might be a sponge or something.

If you could ID the thing in the pic I would be greatful ::cheesy:

    Thanks everyone

Guh, i know what you mean about having that gut wrenching urge to scream at the idiots that parade around the animals and screech at the top of their lungs, my favorites are the skanky teen girls (dressed like mini street walkers) Screaming "LOOOOOOOOOOOOK! ITS NEEEEEEEEEEEEEMOOOOOOOOOO!!!! NEEEEMOOOOOOOOOO! LOOOOK, NEEEEMOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" All the while tearing out their hair like its the best thing they've ever seen. And the oh so wonderful "AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! LOOKA THE LIL FISHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FISHYYYYYYYYYY FISHYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!"

To answer your question, it does look like a coral, but its all....attatched? Where as the coral ive seen are individual heads, but it could be, its lovely tho.

Please consider the PM I sent you CLthomps. A negative x a negative = a negative. Your references could be taken offensively and and get people riled up. I can see the thread already takeing a turn for the worse with the excpeption of this post by John.

Looks to me like some kind of small lps. Does it open? If no, it looks like a dead lps skeleton. Not sure what you are trying to ID in the second pic.

first pic looks like a dead Leptastrea sp. (or at least something in the favidea family) unless you are talking about the sponge on the dead coral skeleton. The second pic i am seeing Halimeda the "freshwater plant"...well turns out that halimeda is in fact a SW macroalgae.

The second pic is just a full view of one of the pieces, As for the Freshwater plants I didn't take a pic of them ( I got some Dwarf baby tears, some scarlet temple, and a red sword)

i was gonna try some on my killifish tank :) i dont wanna touch the iwagumi cause i just replanted the HC in there after that algae break out. So i am sure you know what a pain it is to plant that stuff!! i need to let it root before i will take any cutting from that tank.

The tank is very plain but after i did the massive clean up on the ada tank i decided to completely redo the little 5 gallon while i was at it.
