Small shells

    This has bothered me for a while , at night after the lights go out allot of little shelled creatures come out and are all over the rocks they have white pointy shells (like the shells you see in crushed coral. I can't get a pic because they are to small but there are allot of them and more and more have been showing up.does anybody now what they might be and are they safe?

    Thanks missionsix the closes thing I can see that they look like is the PYRAMID SNAILS but I never seen them on my turbo snails just all over the rocks.I'll have to look real close again tonight.

    If they look like pyramidellids but don't bother your Turbo snails, and if they are multiplying, they are probably harmless rissoids. Some species are so similar that you can only tell the difference by looking at the protoconchs under magnification, but behavior is a pretty good indicator. Here are some of the ones that show up in reef tanks:
