Smartwave or not?

What’s this I’ve heard about Koralia pumps, when used with the smartwave, having their “heads” brake? Do people mean the cover of the Koralia that covers the impeller? I setting up my 75 with one 1400 evolution and a 750 evolution Koralia pumps. I was going to use my new smartwave, but now I’m thinking of not using it and just letting the pumps run together. Anyone with the smartwave, can you chime in?

Yeah the powerheads are capable of running in reverse. To fix the problem Hydor added a rubber bumper to the front cover that the prop will strike if it's running in reverse. Over time the plastic fatigues and the front cover will crack allowing the PH to run in reverse. If left cracked eventually the bumper will get hit one last time and will break free completely to shoot somewhere in your tank. There is still a bumper somewhere in my tank....
