well also when i got a 135 tank it had a bunch of live sand, but it wasnt white anymore, it was all dirty and nasty, so i decided to take it a little at a time, and took a hose and put some sand into a 5 gallon bucket, and cleaned and washed it out until the water went through it was clear and the sand was white again, i repeated this until all the sand was clean, well its been like 2 weeks, and it jsut been sitting in my garage in a tub, and i checked it today, and it smelt like worse then ocean porta poty status! it was disgusting, i am assuming it needs to be cured agian, should i just let it all dry out, or should i put it back in salt water for a month?

Cook it in the sunlight nemo. At this point, it sounds like it was sitting in water while in your garage. Let the sunlight cook it or, use a bleach solution, but, rinse very well. Sunlight takes longer, but, is safer.

i think i am going to get something flat to spread it all out, then let it dry in the sun, up here it is in the 90's 100's so it shouldnt take long, after it bakes can i just throw it into the tank?
