    Hello,

I recently did a water change and noticed that my water has a little smell to it. I have also noticed a little bit of GHA growing in some areas with lower flow. I added another k2 to my system. now i have two k2 in my 55? any idea why the water would stink and ideas of getting rid of the GHA or controlling it.

Time to start a media reactor. I like Seachem Seagel, it's carbon for the stinky's and phosphate remover for phosphates.

    So far good advice.

Any time your tank smells run fresh activated carbon, this will solve it within a few hours.

For the GHA – Nitrates and Phosphates are the usual culprits Personally I like rowaphos, purigen and chemipure – I find this particular cocktail to be the best combination 24/7 year round.

if it is a rotten egg smell and you stirred the sand during the water change you might have released some hydrogen sulfide that resides in the anoxic layer of your sandbed. Otherwise, +1 to ^^
