While I was out in the field last month, my emerald crab decided to get himself trapped in some pvc pipe. My wife didn't notice in time to save him. I have since fixed that problem and rearranged all the PVC pipe for the rock to sit on and I shouldn't have that problem any more. Today I picked up two more emerald crabs to combat my bubble algae problem.

I also used some Boyd Chemiclean Red Slime Cyano Bacteria Remover as directed on Thursday, and today all of my cyano is completely gone. I'm getting ready to do a 20% water change right now to finish the process. The directions say to remover my activated carbon for the next 24 hours, but is this really necessary?

It may be so that any residual red slime gets killed off.

Well I don't really see where it would hurt anything for only taking it out for 24 hours, so I will do it. I just finished with the 20% water change. I'm not used to doing one that big lol.

I was thinking about doing this retro fit kit Coralvue 36 Inch 4 Lamp T5 Retrofit Kit (Bulbs Included), but I got to thinking about LEDs more and more lately. Now I'm thinking of going with BoostLED's. It would actually cost about the same amount of money for both ways.

I'm thinking of getting the Typhon LED Controller Kit with 3 PAR30 Reef Lamp Kit - PAR30 Reef Lamp Kit with 3 Royal Blue, 1 Cool White, 1 Neutral White, 60 Degree. I'm just not sure which color combonation would be the best overall. I don't like a really blue look, but I want the best setup for coral growth and I would like to be able to keep softies, SPS and LPS as well.

I'm thinking that LEDs are going to be the way to do things here really soon, and I don't want to waste money on a diy project that is just going to be obsolete here fairly soon. It seems like LEDs are really making a good name for themselves as well.

With the Koralia Smart wave, are those just wall plugs? essentially could you plug any power head into it? Thank you for the help.
