I've heard of people using water bottles. Just leave no air so that it doesn't slosh around. And don't send them attached to rocks.

Well some are attached and I dont want to un do them..but perhaps I should..I hear what your saying...thats why I was thinking of some cotton or something to keep them still..some will be loose also...the are hardly considered fragile...so I think it will be fine.
    Thanx:)

Hey smitty shrooms are looking great. My green shroom has only split once since last july and it was during the time the mushroom moved rocks because too much flow. Now its in my fuge. It detached itself completely one day and I placed it on a small frag plug. Since then it looks really happy and extends to about the size of a tennis ball when its super happy. The other frag it left behind is starting to color up and is about the size of a dime.

What do you do to get your shrooms so happy? I haven't had much luck with zoa's or leathers in my DT ..

Also the past week my Blue Sympodium has not been opening. I recebtly added active carbon about two weeks ago, would this have something to do with it? Blue sympodium is suppose to be a hardy but slow growing clove coral. It was doing wonderful up until the other week. Haven't made a thread for it because I'm not sure why its unhappy.m params are ca- 500 mag 1250 dK7.3

Thank you very much. He is fast when he wants to be lol, most of the time he likes to pose for the camera. Some of my shrooms are still a little upset about the increased flow that I was trying up till a week ago, but they are slowly recovery. I don't know where yours would've vanished to though.

Mine did the same when I moved them. Seems to take them a while to adjust to change(insert witty political reference here). Mine took two weeks.

I guess the best way I know how to keep my shrooms really happy is low flow, enough to where they barely more, and patients honestly. The red ones on the sand bed took about a good month before they really settled in. I didn't think they were going to like my tank, but now they really open up.

I would think that activated carbon would be a good think for your water quality honestly. I don't think that would be the reason why your Sympodium isn't opening. I could be wrong though. I know the carbon will help with the chemical warfare from the zoas. It could just be moody I guess. My GSP gets like that lol.

I would think that the tupperware container would be a good idea. Maybe put the shrooms inside of a baggie and then put that inside of the tupperware container for protection.

I have heard of the water bottle method as well, but I don't know if that is a preferred method or not. It would work though.
