I believe it is just a single lens parabolic reflector. I could be wrong. This will work until I have money to blow on a high end fixture lol.

    haha.

By single lens reflector I meant contoured to each bulb individually. though it does sound a bit misleading. Sorry for the confusion.

It is just one big reflector from what I can see and an individual reflector per bulb. I think we were talking about the same thing, just a different sheet of music, lol

There are 3 different shapes of reflectors for T5HO bulbs. I forget the exact names. Somewhere here on 3reef, somebody actually posted a graph with some pictures that showed the light output, comparing T5HO bulbs with no reflector, each of the 3 kinds, and also compared to PC lighting and LED. That's obviously more technical than what we need to know now; I was just curious. Though the graph was an interesting bit of information to read. Unfortunately I did not save the image to my computer.

The Oddysea fixture appears to have a parabolic reflector, but that's a nice starting light fixture.

(sorry for the picture being so big. lol)

Wow, I see what you are talking about now. I guess I am trying to say that it looks like it has a Parabolic reflector lol. Thanks for clarifying for me.

So, do you think that once my params stabilize, that I could keep some montipora in my current setup? I have always like these corals as well.

as long as it was close enough to the light I dont think you would have a problem.

That is what I thought, I have seen where it says that the amount of light it needs is from low to high.
