snail ID...maybe?

    discovered this guy after 2 months, its shell doesnt seem like a normal shell, but it is hard, but it has antlers and a mouth just like a turbo snail. Not the greatest pics, but does anybody know?

    Stomatella Varia, very beneficial algae eater. Good part of the cleanup crew.

    best part of my clean up crew. only wish i could buy more of them. why wont anyone sell stomatellas? they are faster than most snails and can get into some of the smaller crevices.

    Don't worry....if you see 2 or 3 it is guarenteed that in less then a month you will have 15 ;)

    Sweet! thanks guys...I could tell by his speed and what it was munching on that he was a good guy, just needed to know what to call him. That would be great if there was a second one, but I can tell by the pink on this one's back it's the same one I saw 3 days ago.

    You might be surprised at others appearing, they grow pretty fast from so small you can hardly see them to decent, breeding size. I cajoled an LFS into selling me 3 tiny ones ($2 a piece LOL) back in December. I have tons now, including an orange-footed HUGE one that must've come in tiny on a frag cuz the ones I bought were all whitish. The larger ones have all spawned, including the orange one, and now I have babies everywhere.
