is it ok if i pull him off or would that hurt him? he looks to big to caught on the powerhead because of the large shell but i just don't want anything to happen to him or the powerhead

Ours do it all the time what type of power head do you have? We have had a turbo get stuck on the screen on our maxi jet 1200 he did not make it. Sometime they climb on the side of them and they don't go near the screen. We usually gently pull them off when we notice they are on the powerhead in case they try to commit suicide.

i have two maxijett 1200 powerheads. I just noticed two more snails climb onto the powerheads, and just decided to pull them off *gently* and place them on a rock that really needs cleaning, lol everythings focused on cleaning the glass right now.

They were also on the side as well, but didn't want to take a chance.

when you move them just slide them and break thier suction instead of pulling directly off and it shouldent ever be an issue

Yeah they seem to love to be attached to power heads we just try and keep an eye out for them mainly it's the turbo snails they don't seem to be so smart.

My snails clean my koralia without a problem. They've never gotten stuck but they have been blown off the front and landed in the sand upside down. Its amazing that they really can't flip them selves over sometimes. Oh well, thats what the long stick is for =)

I wouldn't worry about it if it were me. I've actually had a turbo snail get stuck in a running koralia powerhead somehow. I just turned the pump off and the snail crawled out, both the snail and the pump were just fine.
