snail waste

    what will eat snail poop,i just bought 4 trochus snails and the leave huge piles of poop in my tank.

    I am also going to buy a few peppermint shrimp this weekend and i have a Bicolor Pseudochromis,i have another name for him but there mite be kids reading this.will he eat the shrimp even if he is well fed.the shrimp, i was told that they should be about an inch long if not bigger.

    A protein skimmer. Seriously though, nothing in my experience eats snail poop. Eventually it will break down and the skimmer will get it if your water movement is adequate.

    never seen my snail poop so maybe you need more water flow

    ive actually watched my tank when i first set it up and tend to still watch it closely. I have seen my turbo snails poo.. much like a fish does but believe it or not the poo actually came out of a tiny hole about 1/4inch behind its elephant like mouth. ok onto the same thing here.....i have a good size cleanup crew couple corals, zoa, stars and 2 anemone's. with all this poo in the water that creates amonia if im correct right...

    I have seen one of my snails drop a deuce. It wasn't a huge pile, rather a fine spray. You may need more flow, and a protein skimmer will be your friend.

    i bet pods probably pick over it. most animals that eat plant matter dont digest completely enough for other animals not beable to gain nutrition from their poo.
