I looked behind my aquarium a few days ago and found 4 of my Nerite Snails were dried up (or so i presumed) on the floor. Upon first reaction i put them in the sink with tapwater (chastise me if you will). I just wanted to get them wet asap and not put them in my tank. Initially i was just going to pitch them. I had noticed that one of them had opened its hatch a bit but i wasnt sure. In a rush to get to work i had to make a decision, pitch them, or put them back in my aquarium...
So i placed them on top of my powerheads so i could check on them when i got home. When i got home from work all of them except one had moved. i pitched the one that remained.
at least i was able to save 3 of them. i was kindve surprised that they lived. They seem to be tough little critters. i dont know why they climbed out, or how long they had been there. but they lived!!!

has anyone else had any instances like this one??

Yes, nerites do that. They live in tidal areas and are used to go out of water to get to the next pool. Try and check daily for them.
