All my snails died ? over a 2 day peroid ?? water parameters all good ....tank is little over a month old ...has already completed the first cycled and returned to normal. About 8 snails in all died. Little hermits area all fine..... Here is my theory...When i bought the tank it had residue of Copper in it...I cleaned it all out and ran lots of charcoal in it from the start-up...tested it for a few weeks and then when it tested no copper....I added the snails....they lived for about 10 days ??? where all happy...cleaning and running all over ....then in last two days ....KaPut !!

I did add some liquid phosphate control as the NO4 was a little high... 2 days before they died, but LFS said that would not hurt anything?

    Any ideas ??

90 gallon, 80 lbs LR , 2" sand bed, wet/dry sump, Skimmer. ALL parameters still in safe areas....checked by myself and LFS?

The Mystery!!! But I know I'm at the right place for a solution!

how did you acclimate them? snails are sensitive to water changes

Well it could be a couple of things:
If you had copper it is most likely still there. Copper is not the sort of thing that disappears in 10 days by running carbon. What exactly is your testing method?
Did the salinity change rapidly? And why dose for phosphates if the NO4 was high? Phosphates are PO4. Or was that a typo?. what are your nitrate levels? Snails will be sensitives to nitrates as well.
Are you running a grounding probe?

What did you use to clean the tank? What kind of snails were they? Are you sure the tank was finished cycling?

Whats the chances the copper is leaching out the LR..?? At low amounts to where the snail's would get dosed but not testable by a test kit..?? Hmmmm.... i am sure i am wrong but just wondering my self...
