snails, do they need to be cured or QT'd before putting them in?

    I just bought a bunch of snails for the tank, How would you recommend i put them in. Should I just put them in, or should I QT them or what?

    That depends.....did you get them by mail order? If by mail order, were they shipped dry or submerged in water?

    Always acclimate. You can and will shock some if you just put them in. What type of snails are they?

    Rickzter is right, acclimate them slowly. I don't QT them but I soak them and rinse them in tank water in a bowl so I don't introduce any foreign water into my system.

    Like mentioned prior always acclimate. It is always a good idea to QT new additions. If nothing else, visually inspect them for any potential problems.
