I got home today and I noticed a few of my large turbos had died. I checked my salinity first and I was at 1.030 and I panicked. I had been at 1.023 and wanted to get to 1.025 so I had been adding extra salt to my last two water changes.
I have a bunch of coral and fish...I think the tanks been that high on salt for a few days and everything looks ok besides the snails. I immediately took out some water and filled it back with RODI. I am back at 1.028. How fast can I drop back down to a normal range without shocking things?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Snails are very sensitive to swings in pH and SW. Starfish, shrimp and snails are the few things I drip acclimate.

It's much easier on fish and inverts to go down in SG than up.

Drop it to 1.027 in the next 24 hours and they every thing should be fine.

Target SG for tanks with corals and fish 1.025-1-027 roughly.

i don't think 1.028 is all that high, I keep mine at 26, so I'd leave it be and slowly knock it back down over the next few days.

Cool. Thanks a lot, for some reason I had it in my head that the tank should be 1.023-1.025. Ok! Thanks
