It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Large predatory worms like polyclad and eunice worms, swings in SG and pH, a type of pyramid snails are parasitic to snail. Sometimes we get snails that are from temperate waters and succumb to the elevated temps we keep our tanks at.

Well, something is a wrong.. We all have snails.. I have 4 different breeds of snails including fighting conchs.. I would check your water first. I wouldn't stress over snails so much, though it sucks.

Sometimes snails just dont live expecially the big ones, for the most part I have heard that turbos average about 6 months in our tanks because we keep them at a higher temperature. maybe try some different snails, I have nerite snails in about 8 months now and have not seen one die, make sure you keep enough shells for the hermit to move into, he could be the culprit, and watch your tank at night for the worms that were listed above,

and check your water, inverts are usually the first indicator that there could be a water quality issue, because they are more sensitve to water changes.

And if everything checks out, try some different kinds. I think I have like 6 different types in my tank,

All my turbos died within 8 weeks, but all my others are doing fine. Not sure if I'll ever get turbos again.

Have you removed the dead snail? Leaving dead snails in a tank can cause more problems.

Don't get discouraged over a few snails dying. I have lost a few snails and have no idea why they died. Others have fallen victim to various predators. Occasionally they get evicted by hermits crabs. Snails lead a tough life ;).

What are your water parameters? Can't help you figure out why they're dying if we don't know that. Run tests on ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate today & let us know the results.

Because of few dead snails:confused: We all lost a lot of snails, fish, corals ect. It's nearly impossible to have 100% stable system for years without anything dying. I buy blackfoot trochus snails for $1 at my LFS, they are way better cleaners than my lazy nerrites and they survived few system crushes, my oldest one is 1 year old. Never had Mexican turbo.
    Good luck.

My Mexican turbo snails have been around for over a year and no issues and they are BIG!! This may sound like a dumb question, but you do have enough food for them to feed on? My newest snails are Bubble Bee Snails, they even feed on worms.
