I've had my 125 setup for a couple months now, and had a diatomic outbreak a month ago, I finally got around to ordering snails, how many? its got about 100lbs of live rock and about 60lbs of base rock. I currently have 10 turbo snails.
    If i ordered
    10 dwarf Zeriths,
    10 nassarius vibex
    10 nerite small
    10 zig zag periwinkles
    10 juvenile Florida Cerith

    Would this be to much?

fill out the questionaire and john at reefcleaners will tell you exactly what you need.

as an example here is what was recommended for my 90.

100 Dwarf Ceriths - small effective cleaners
21 Nassarius - for the fish when they arrived - (scavenger)
    48 Florida Ceriths
    3 CHitons
    15 Limpets
    19 Large Nerite
    2 five pack of mangroves
1 chaeto or ulva or gracilaira
then some varied macros to go with your plan.

not intending to hijack this thread, but just a question that i have to ask.. just snails are fine for a cleanup crew? no hermit crabs? my LFS, for 125 gallon, recommends the following:

    100 - Blue Legged Hermits
    15 - Red Scarlet Hermit
    30 - Astrea Snails
    30 - Margarita Snails
    30 - Cerith Snails

yes and no, hermits are good too, its just I wanted to wait and get those, maybe another sale:D but since I have a major algea problem I just wanted to start with snails, and then maybe pick-up hermits from my LFS.

Hermit crabs also serve a purpose and as part of the questionaire you are asked if you would like them included or not in your custom quote.

ya seems like a lot to me too... sure they make great custodians, but if there aren't enough spare shells kickin around it'll be a warzone!
