A lot of little snails have just been born in my fuge and i was wondering whether or not to keep them in there or move them up to the DT

they probably ok for now since they were born their. but you may want to make sure they have some food every once in while(algaewafer or something).

eventually i would move them somewhere else either DT or lfs

i intentionally put two nassarius snails in my fuge that is only 2.5g so they can stir the sandbed to reduce a detritus buildup and help from raising nitrates too high

wont snails eat the algae, which is what you want in a fuge

No because then they just produce waste. Which is the point of the fuge, to eat up that waste. So if you have something (macro algae) consuming your waste, then something else (snails) is consuming THAT, then those are making new waste (snail poop) then there is no point. Because instead of just dealing with the regular waste then the macro algae has to deal with the added snail waste, too.

depend upon what you have i dont think they can eat caluerpa or chaeto since they can break it off.

theres really no point of them being in there, since you macro should consume all waste, even the detritus when it is broken down by bacteria

yes algae no animal, with the exception of some worms for the sand bed, but even there not need if you have rooting macros.

pods will breed in there too but thats for the fish to eat not the fuge

edit: basically im trying to say you dont need any specific clean up crew as the the plants and pods(and some other microverts) will take care of all the cleaning

this is not exactly true. every fuge is different. mine is loaded with detritus so i had to put a nassarius and two dwarf ceriths in to clean the sandbed and rid it of detritus. if there is detritus buildup it will just cause more nitrate and the point of a fuge is for nitrate reduction
