Snails OK in a Fuge?

actually your comment makes me wonder how much of a impact the consumption of detritus by scavengers has on the end results of nitrates.

so basically the difference between the final amount of nitrates produced.

by a detritus eaten by bacteria vs a detritus eaten by scavengers, then the scavengers poo eaten by bacteria.

or alternately
detritus eaten by pods vs detritus eaten by snails

i think it may have the same results. but i am intrigued by the question so any input would be appreciated.



we have scavengers in the tank because its unsightly but in a fuge it shouldnt matter also it will allow the pod population to swell from the food.
