SnooknRedz's 20 Gallon(SHUT DOWN)

Heres the tank as of 10 minutes ago. Last night i broke one of my aqua blue specials so im running a 10K bulb that came with the fixture. Honestly its probably better that way because these ati bulbs are pushin 11 months old.
Did a water change today and got rid of most my cyano, again... but it looks nice for the time being. ;D lol. enjoy

Haha I had a HUGE cyano problem when I first started my 75 like 9 months ago or so and it just covered every inch of the tank, but the way I got rid of it was to do about a 40 percent water change and sucked out every little bit that I could find and it went away about a week after that. I haven't had any problems with it until I went on vacation about a month ago, now I have a couple spots about 4 inches in diameter so I am trying to get that away. I think I will try the big water change again. But good luck with the battle =]

 

Im doing weekly 5 gallon wc... and i just started using chemi pure elite so hopefully those 2 will help out.

 

Hopefully it does. I just am not a big fan of using chemicals to get rid of algae and aptasia and other problematic things in the tank. Do you have a fuge on your tank?

 

Kinda... my aqua clear has a mangrove in her. i might add more chaeto. i had some couple months ago but it died. I think this light i have now will be better. Im not either but all it is is GFO and carbon. I ran both before anyway, so what the hey.

 

Oh well GFO and Carbon are fine I run carbon in my 75 and I want to get a GFO and Carbon reactor for it. ya Im not sure how well that small of a fuge would do exporting Nitrates and what not. If you like xenia and don't mind having it in your tank it works much much better than cheato and any other macro algae at exporting all that stuff, just trim it back so it doesn't get out of hand or it you like the tank full of xenia look keep it in there =] I have a xenia fuge on my 75. And you can also sell frags of it.

 

I like my xenia. First coral ive had that has really grown for me. I need to frag it, its getting big but not too big. i wanna frag a piece and put it on the other side of the tank.

 

Oh I didn't know you had xenia =] I didn't read through your entire tank thread I was to lazy =P plus its like 1 in the morning so ya. But I did see you mention something about ocean direct. How do you like that store?
