    Update as of 12-4(Click HD!)

I was trying out my new iphone4, not the 4s, and shot this quick video of the tank.
My new zoas are doing awesome!!! its only been 18 days since theyve been in my tank and i see 5 new heads on this frag!!! its growing faster than my xenia, which is odd to me. I still battle cyano :-[ idk why it wont go away!!! i have done everything but black out the tank, which i DO NOT WANT TO DO!! dont give me that adivce. last time i did that my palys got super stressed, my xenia stretched looking for light. I think i did more harm than good. Actually last time i did a black out it was for GHA and it did go away. I dont know where my phosphates are coming from!

    -I have an RODI unit
-I feed 4 fish every 2-3 days and I only give em what they can eat in a min n half, or till i see a little belly buldge.
-Im using chemi pure elite, and before that had GFO in my reactor and still have this issue. Im so pissed off that this sh¡t is still there.
-Not to mention i WC 5 gallons every week!! that should be the cleanest water in florida!! but no..(im thinking about making it 5 gallons every 2 weeks) maybe my tank will like that.

Almost forgot the new stand i build for the tank.
Reason for it. Currently my tank is setting on an old dresser ive had since forever and its at the foot of my bed. More times than not the tank gets a little warm, about 80 ish during the mid day (of the tank not real time my lights go on from 5pm- 1am, thats when im up so no since in sync with the natural sun lol) and i have to open the canopy to help vent some hot air out. Well my girl always complains how its too bright for her. She wont wear my shades so i had to move it.

Im gonna have it in our closet. this way i can put some big fans in there, to circulate the air. Also i may do away with the current canopy if need be, I can close the closet if its too bright. Simple stand stained it myself too its sturdy and more importantly built by myself so i know its good to go.

Sorry bout the laundry pile. lol

If i choose in the distant future to have this tank set up while i have my 75, i can use the very bottom for a sump. the middle shelf is intended for supplies, but my bottle collection is there for now, warming it up. (note hypnotiq isnt mine, thats all my girl drinks. lol its too fruity for me. The captain & crown are mine ;))

    lol dude,

If I may offer abit of advice, think of these threads as more for you than for other members. I think you may derive more joy from your threads if you view them as a way to document your progress in the hobby.

I mean lets be honest here, it is hard to compete for attention with the huge mega builds that have top of the line equipment and plumbing with auto water changing and huge colonies...

Don't take it personally if you aren't getting the same traffic as those threads because there is no way that you ever will. So keep your thread for yourself not for others.

    Just my personal opinion.

and perhaps people were turned off by all the girly drinks on your stand j/k :)

Oh yeah and the stand looks nice, I like the rustic stain job, it actually reminds quite alot of the stand on my 75 gallon FW tank.

haha. i know what you mean i just really like the input others have around here. i give a great amount of input where i feel i can attribute, and i feel other ppl just could care less about it. Im new to the hobby, so i really enjoy feedback from others who know this hobby in and out. I was thinking it was the drinks too! but seriously It was a bit of a tantrum but, by no means am i serious.

thats just what i need to do to get some damn support around here, kinda sucks. But who cares I keep a very detailed progress report on my comp, i dont need this site to do it. I just feel my contribution may influence someones decision to start a tank. and thats great to me. i just take it personaly when i see the views of the thread go up, but nobody has sh¡t to say. kinda makes me feel like their time isnt worthy of making this tank the best it can be. like i said ive only had this tank 15 months. I am by NO MEANS a pro.

so i gain knowledge with new posts, convos, etc on here. and i feel kinda left for dead only because this tank isnt a show piece. its a regular tank. nothing crazy lol.

I understand where you are coming from, but you have to remember that there are essentially three types of posts in the 'show-off-your-tank' forums.

    1) the ol' "looks good!" comment (I like those haha). The validation is always nice but in the end it will not help to improve you in the hobby.

    2) a comment responding to a direct question, which often times you will get a more direct answer if you ask the question in the appropriate forum.

    3) chit-chat between friends

Remember people are not really going to go into your thread and offer unsolicited constructive criticism because it can come off as kind-of rude. So the best way to get feedback is to ask specific questions both in your thread as well as in the gurus' threads.

Also the more detailed your journal is, the more likely that it will be able to have an influence on a newb. Just keep up the journal and the comments will come.

EDIT: I too have felt the sting of an empty journal thread...perhaps we should start an 'official 20 long reef tank' thread. :cheesy:

Thanks man, i see what you mean. I've asked many times specific ?'s and its like a ghost town round here sometimes. It is what it is. I just want my cyano gone  thanks for chiming in, however unrelated to my tank it is. ill make my tank like yours one day. I just dont know where im going wrong, and it is so frustrating

Im down with a 20 long reef tank thread/club round here. I seriously love this tanks shape and for cheap you can get one too.
