I wish I had some advice for the cyano problem, it seems like you are doing everything right.

Sorry if these question have been asked previosuly, but...Have you tested the water that you doing your water changes with? Is it possible that your RO-DI filter isn't working right?

Is it possible that you have nitrates/phosphates trapped in your rock?

What are your latest nitrate/phosphate readings? If you have detectable nitrates/phosphates, do you see a large decrease after a water change and how quickly does it increase after water change?

If you do have a nitrate/phosphate issue, you could try dumping in some of that booze you have into the tank :). Vodka dosing will work at reducing the nitrates and phosphates but I am not sure how it works with cyano.

i know how rough that cyano can be - my sand looked just like yours maybe worse. Ugly stuff. You seem to be doing everything right to not have a problem, but there it is.. wish I could help

I replaced my light bulbs, lowered feeding, started running GFO, moved powerheads around, and still didn't make a difference until I siphoned it all out. It hasn't come back yet been about 2 weeks. Have you tried that yet? I think it may be hard to get it out of there unless you manually remove it, and then hope it doesn't return b/c you're doing everything you should be not to let it thrive

I have not tested it. I know i need to tho. I hope it isnt my rodi its brand new. I think it may be the container im storing it in... does any one know if storing rodi water in a 5 gallon homer bucket from HD will produce phosphates in it? I cleaned the mess out of it when i got it, and do everytime i add water to it.

It comes back when i siphon it up in about 2-3 days. I started dripping kalk, very very small amounts.
I need to replace my bulbs i know that! but i have no money bro like im broke. I manually remove it and it comes right back in no time. I just hope it decides to dissappear one day seriously.

i know how frustrating it is i feel for ya. i'm also interested in the answer of if the storage container can produce phosphates, i just use a generic rubbermaid from the dollar store and have been concerned about it
