Wow man those are excellent! I think it looks good now, its not over grown. Ive never attempted a planted tank. I might in the future, they look kinda neat when done correct. Im just not a fan of FW fish, i guess thats why i went straight to the SW world lol, that and i like a challenge. ppl always said they were next to impossible, but im living proof anyone can do it. seriously im on a college student budget, no job, and im doing alright lol.

Only thing is i dont know where i would put it, i was thinking right next to the 75, but im not even sure where i want to put that tank... lol im in a dilemma. Ill keep that idea on hold for a while, because i think it be cool as well.

Thanks dude. I am definitely trying for a more organized variation with the 75, I am just not totally happy with the arrangement in the back...it just needs to fill in a bit more.

i agree that the SW fish are way cooler than FW. They jsut have a lot more personality. The dwarf cichlids are cool though, they have good colors and very interesting behaviors but for the most part i see schooling fish as more of an accent to the planted tank than anything else lol.

Low light planted tanks are pretty easy to take care of, but things get alot more tricky when you get high light/high tech and are quite a challenge as well. I have a 4 bulb T5HO fixture and i need to dose with CO2 and nitrates and phosphates to keep the algae at bay. If the tank isn't balanced right for the amount of light the plants get covered in algae and it is a total mess. Once it is dialed in though, and you have a set routine, most of the work involves trimming. The plants grow a lot faster than corals as well so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor much sooner haha.

I would love to have twin 75 gallons at some point. One is a planted tank like the one I have and then the other is a kick ass reef...I think the juxtaposition of the green from the planted tank with blues and reds from the reef would be really sweet!

Interesting i didnt know any of that. like i said i have no experience in FW. I bet they grow a lot faster as they're plants and not animals, and i also fish so i know how quick some species grow from when i visit that hole one day vs. another

That would be awesome John (2in10) has those 2 and made them awesome. I like the size of the tank. I got it for 80 bux too ( non drilled tho) and no stand. But i like doing that myself.

Im the worst with picking a scape i like... I wasnt digging the arch the new rock was making. Ive had too many arches in this tank....

i made it so that theres all the "reef" rock on the left and the 2 odd pieces to the right. I want to get a sps coral some time soon, and add it to the left. My xenia is the main coral.i think it may be time for a small monti cap or something. Guy in my local reef club has a green frag, but hes kinda far away. Any who, heres the new scape:

Thanks bro!! From the front they blend and look like a single rock. But there 2, one shelf kinda piece with the ricordia and zoas on it, leaning on the bigger one that at the cave, bows in... From an angle it doesnt look too good but it makes a nice cave for my wrasse to explore, and pass thru.
