Here is how it looked at the initial start:

As you can see there were not a lot of live rocks at all. Guestimate: 45lbs of LR. I didnt have a lot of bioload either and a few months later, I added 30lbs of dry rocks after curing.

    I hope this helps :)

hmmm.... only thing is, you have more lr than i do, and sand... Im going to dry out the sand in there, and just start over with it and throw it in the fuge. .i want to just add all the fish in there now, im just skeptical cuz i dont want anything going wrong. But im just having a hard time seeing where it would.. I have a clown, watchman goby, and a small wrasse. and all the lr in the 20, plus the dry rock in the 75 and some lr too. My ammonia isnt high at all, nitrite either. I think i saw a bigger spike in my 20 when i cycled with a damsel.

What would you do? my skimmers been off to, so if i add the livestock today, i could throw that on to help start breaking down waste.

The 45lbs of live rock was combined total from 29 and rubbermaid. So I dont think I had way more than you will do. Dont put all the fish into the 75 soon tho, Id start putting small live rocks from the 20 after the cycle is done.

Right on, will do. I only have 4 pieces in there, maybe 20lbs in total. I dont want to take out too much, and have the system with not enough bacteria to maintain itself. But if you think i should add after the cycle, then it shouldnt be a problem cuz then the fish will follow shortly after.

But i guess i just have to remain patient and let it run its course.

Have you used any nitrifying bacteria products? I had great success with microbacter7.

When the cycle is done, Id start transferring smallest rock from the 20. Test the water of both 20 and 75, make sure the param is as close as possible, especially temp and pH. Id still drip acclimate each time, starting with the hardiest fish.
