Turned the skimmer on before bed last night, and this is what she looks like with about 12 hrs of skim. On a tank with only 2 fish & a cuc. Seems pretty respectable. Its brand new so i dont even think its close to broke in lol.

Heres the beginning of my DSB. Took the sand from the 20, and im letting it dry out now. The cylinder is 1.5 gallons. 8.5" diameter, 6" high. 20lbs of sand exactly. When i get more, ill add to the actual tank(fuge), and then have this stacked on top for mangroves to anchor properly and what not. Ill post when its added, but im guessing a few weeks, to properly cure the sand from anything in my 20.

Ill look at getting a lot of pods to make a nice sanctuary in it... well hopefully. maybe a piece of pvc fitting planted in it would give a place for pods to just bunker down. Idk if it gets gunk, itll have chaeto and other macro in there to eat the ditritus.

Today marks the week 1 mark of the tank having fish in her. Clown and goby are eating like champs. Now to just let it mature, add filter media, and start the fuge and shell be on cruise control. Well I hope but Ill be there to interven if needed lol.
