Snook, I think you've got the gist of it. Your sump plan looks pretty good. Your plumbing is just how I would have done it, though on the fuge, I might put a 90* elle so that you don't make a sand storm of the sand in your refugium. Can't wait to see the results. :)

Looks like a pretty solid plan but I agree with Hermano in that you might have issues with your sand in the fuge unless you really down the flow or redirect the water so that it isn't just pouring straight into the fuge.

Good idea, i might one up that and just make a straight pipe all the way down to the glass with holes drilled in it to evenly disperse the flow. That plus a gate valve should work. Im not sure how i feel about capping the end of it though, may trap some gunk.
Preciate if fellas. I stated that im going to put a gate valve right about where that bar code is on the left piece of straight pvc.. give or take a few inches but you get the just.

If this was your tank, what skimmer would you buy. Im torn between the 2. I know im sure i prolly cant go wrong with either, but i just wanna make sure i spend my money well is all. Don't wanna kick myself in the mouth when its too late. heres what i got they are both rated about the same gallons, they run different pumps. swc is a atman 2500 and the octo is Sicce PSK-600. Im going to have ~100 gallons in this tank.

I personally wanna lean toward the SWC, but make me stand by my choice, or strongly convince me otherwise. Ive seen videos on both and theyre both kick butt skimmers. just curious what you guys would do, given the choice.

Well I didn't choose either of those. I went with the Eshopps psk 150. i got it brand new for 119 delivered to my door ;D. I will definitely have my tank ready by new years now. I have heard nothing but great things about this skimmer. And the price was too good to pass up. I was going to get the same one for 200 at my LFS... saved almost 100 bux and for a struggling college student... Every penny helps in this hobby.

**Mods, feel free to remove the poll on this thread. I cannot find a place where i can do this myself. Tia

I know ive been keeping keeping your input in the back of my mind. I woulda loved to get the swc, but like i say money is key, and for under 120 shipped, i had to pull the trigger.

How deep is your skimmer sitting in. i have yet to build the sump, but i think i will soon, i just need to know the optimal water level for this puppy.
