Thanks bro, ill make sure to do so. Perhaps few minutes after lights come on at 10. again a small bit around 2ish, and then at night time before lights off at 8. Im going to get some nori when i get a little live brine for the entire tank. lol What might you feed yours if you dont mind me asking? I need some new flake as well, i fear mine might be pushing the limit with nutrient depletion, its been a while since i bought em.

I feed a couple dozen pellets (NLS) Formula 2 flakes, Mysis/Ocean Nutrition Frozen blends, and finely tore bits of nori then soak it in selcon and tank water for 15-20 minutes, then I squirt some in everytime I walk by throughout the day.

This does two things, lets the fish have ample feedings as he acclimates to captivity with lots of variety, gets them to start feeding on nori which can be difficult with out a 'food orgy' And Lastly, it gets the tang to reconize you as food so that when you cut back he still knows you at the tank means food.

He will eat more and more each time and then you can go to once a day without him starving.

On principle I like to starve my established tangs. The fat little terd sure aren't eating my algea so the dont get the good stuff. My fat lazy wrasse clan won't eat pods.... the only good fish I have iare my Dotty and Firefish.

Congrats on the new "baby" Tang.

I'm curious how fast the little guy will grow.

I think i can develop a routine of feeding some periodically. Thanks for that. Speaking of firefish, i think my eye is on a pair of those next.
Preciate it my dude. I am too, its going to be quite a transformation if all goes well. Im telling you, its main body to the fork of the tail could fit on a nickle. I bet by the time i think of relocating it. it be closer to a dollar size. lol Time will tell.

Pshhh I got a helfrichi for cheap, it sat at the LFS for months and month then they were marking it down half price while I was in there, but I see him once every couple weeks. Bummer.

Good deal man, ive seen some of them decently priced around here. my rock work isnt 100% where id like it to be, i really want to add more. Im at roughly 65 lbs or so. I think then the fish will find more and more places to hide.

First of the month full shot of the entire system.

Ive dialed my mag 7 back, in an attempt to see the difference of just about 6 months of running on full blast, im interested to see the results of my skimmer when its dialed back significantly than what it has been, almost 40% id say. I know i keep hearing slower is better, now i see it for my own eyes. I have noticed already its cut waay back on the amount of bubbles coming from the overflow dump out in the sump. which means its tad quieter, and the amount of micro bubbles has been almost eliminated. The bubble traps are actually serving their purpose. On full blast, water was cascading over the entire contraption into the return section rendering them ineffective. But now the flow is just right where that doesnt happen. It works as designed. The water level in the DT is lower, not by much you still cant see anything past the trim. lol im going to buy some rock this weekend. and maybe get some macro going in the fuge finally.;D

Tang is showing excellent transitioning into the tank. It ate frozen mysis that i diced up nice and small for the little guy, as well as small bits of flakes 2 times a day. No signs of stress and or disease thus far.

Picked up a few more pounds of base rock for the tank. It was close to 20 more lbs. Every little bit counts.
