yeah space is limited in my sump lol. Plus more pumps = more noise

I wish I would have drilled two returns like you've got though - looks nice bud!

I think i should be okay in terms of space for 2 maxi jets. I can barley hear my maxi jets that are in my 20. i have a 1200 for flow and the 600 for my reactor. they make the occasional noise but nothing im concerned with.

Im glad i went that way. I was going to do an over the tank with a rotating head, but i like the simplicity of the returns drilled and i was already drilling one, might as well do 3. Lemme tell you that loc line stuff is heavy duty. I was very impressed with them. They're solid. I dont know why i was expecting it to be flimsy.. good thing i was wrong.

Glass holes, major props to yall. Solid kit! I would highly recommend them to anyone, knowing how simple drilling really was. I just set the clutch, and went to town. Took longer than probably shoulda but i wasnt bout to rush that part one bit!

I was just wondering. Regular PVC cleaner and cement is ok for plumbing right? I don't want any of that stuff accidentally getting in the PVC and in the tank.

Yeah regular PVC cleaner and cement is fine. Once it dries it's harmless, the fumes on the other hand are killer!! Best to work with that stuff outside or you'll be loopy in no time, LOL.

Took a field trip to Home Depot and bought some plumbing supplies. I got two 2' pieces of 3/4", thread to slip fittings for the 3/4" pipe w/ the female adapter to make it fit. Got a 1 1/2" ball valve and 45 fittings as well. Should start getting things plumbed tomorrow if all goes well. I think Im making a last minute change in design. Here's what my new plan entails:

I think having the drain go through 2 45's vs a T and an elbow will help with total flow. Im also guessing it may be a tad quiet as the water doesnt have to literally fall to a dead stop, then turn, and then turn again. This way the drain will mostly go straight to the skimmer portion of the sump and very little amounts will go off to the fuge, and the ball valve will help get just enough in there.

    What one should I do?

I would like to any who, I also may pick up a used Aqueon 3500 return pump tomorrow, well today. If all goes well I may even cut some acrylic and silicon some baffles, but i dont know yet, we shall see.

45's will be much less restriction on your flow. Also don't forget to put a block of wood(or something SW safe) behind the pipes were they run past the stand and strap them. There will be a small amount of vibration in the pipes and you don't want that transferred to the bulkheads on your tank.;)Looking good!!!!

Thanks Vin! I was planning on putting 2x4s behind the returns, and 1/2" ply behind the drain. Thanks for the input i appreciate it bro.
