I've got a question about snow flake eels. My LFS has one that is about 4-5" in length and I was thinking about buying it for my FOWLR tank. My son has been pestering me to get one and I've resisted so far. I was wanting to know how tight a lid do I need on my tank to keep it from commiting suicide?
I've read that eels are escape artists and my tank does have a few open areas at the back of the glass top for powerheads and my overflow.
    Thanks!

Very tight and I have seen them slip down an unscreened stand pipes and get to the sump. Egg crate had to be weighted also they will left it.

yeah I had mine with glass tops, and he did fine. But I gave him to a relative which had some openings, and he quickly got out and died.
He also ate my relatives cat before dieing. :(

LOL, I guess I'll for go the snowflake eel then. Seems like too much trouble.
All though the one at my LFS is pretty damn cute at 4-5".
