Good luck to all of you that are in the HUGE storm path. I was out in PA last year and we go hit with 20" in two days. This storm sounds worse!

That would be why we have 6 boxes of livestock stuck in Chicago. You would think the distributor would hold off shipping until the snow ends.

I hope the power doesn't go, but just in case. Thank you for all the replies. I cant afford a generator right now and I have electic stove, but I have 2 dozen hand warmers and I think I will get some more now while I can. storm just started but already have 2 inches and 35 mph winds! Thanks agin for all the support.

Just watched the mail lady almost get stuck in front of my neighbor's house. She didn't look happy as I went out with some cat litter to help her. She made it out herself though, and didn't even acknowledge my existence...

Got about 1 1/2" of ice here, fortunately it started as sleet instead of freezing rain, so no weighing down the power lines.

Power went out over here in Lakewood, Colorado. We only got a couple inches of snow but it was -15 degrees this morning when I woke up(wind chill about -40 in some parts). I wrapped the tank up as best as I could and was thankful the power was out for only about two hours. Only saw a couple degree change in the tank. I am going to get a battery back up and run the heater and pump only, just in case it happens again.

WooooooHOOOOOOOO!! I can hardly see out my window!! I live in the Loop (chicago) and we are going to get blasted! My ups is ready to go if Comed kicks the can :p

Fill a small food container with hand warmers. they are good for 6-8 hrs. but it need to be kept in low oxygen area (which is why they work better in mittens) so the smaller the container the better...
Your blankets are also a good idea
    GOOD LUCK
