I would more worried about the damsels if you want to keep them in the tank. The will become eel food if they are not careful.

    +1 on that

dont worry about the Eel, it will get into places the Damsels could not get at it, even if they wanted to

but the Damsels may be on the menu, eventually

This is my opinion, but let your new addition have a nice house-warming gift and just leave them in. Sorry if it offends but I hate damsels

Would a snowflake eat any fish it can fit in it's mouth including clowns?

Btw nismo ive seen clowns and snowflakes get along fine as long as the eel is already fat and happy however if your eel gets hungry I hope the clown is fast :D

I'm sure it isn't going about it the right way but I've been considering means of getting rid of my velvet damsel. Have a clam coming next week and don't want him picking at it since he picks at everything ;)! I didn't know it'd be so troublesome so a mistake on my part. My first few attempts at catching him have been futile. I have two Ocellaris and a royal gamma too so wouldn't want them
To fall victim...but stinkin damsel has to go. I have until this weekend.

I tried the sorta to get rid of my yellow tail damsel, but a 1,1/2 years latter the eel out grew the tank and the damsel was still smacking him in the face with it's tail to the day I took them out. The only thing mine showed any direct interest in was peppermint shrimp, but maybe that because I feed it frozen shrimp most of the time. If you feed you eel when it starts looking around the thing will be veryyy chill, but if it's hungry be careful with you hand in the tank lol ::). It did not really hurt much when it bit me, but it's a little scary.
It might have been that it was still pretty small, I don't know how they act when they get big.
